KD DOT 4
Brake oil

A critical aspect of brake oils is their hygroscopic characteristic. During use, they tend to absorb moisture with a consequent reduction in their boiling point. Therefore, prolonged braking which heats the fluid can cause “vapour lock” (the formation of vapour bubbles). These bubbles (which cause brake failure) form when the oil, due to braking, reaches high temperatures which are equal or higher to the critical boiling point of the oil itself. To avoid these problems, it is advisable to use KD DOT 4 brake oils, which guarantee a higher vapour lock point, thus guaranteeing improved performance and safety compared to traditional brake oils. KD DOT 4 is a fluid with a high boiling point for disk and drum brakes which complies with international FMVSS DOT 4 specifications. High boiling point Low Viscosity at -40 Minimum expansion with rubber surfaces Anti-corrosive properties regarding all metals Elevated lubricating characteristics Chemical stability. The liquid is particularly hygroscopic and therefore should be kept well-closed in its original container. If the container is left open for a couple of days, this will cause irreparable damage to the quality of the product, as the absorption of water drastically reduces the boiling point of the fluid.
Fill or top up the hydraulic circuit of the brake system to the level indicated by the manufacturer.
